DOG gone FUN blog hop 16th-17th

Welcome to my 1st blog hop!!
I just want to spread the news about
rescuing a dog or puppy.

DOG gone FUN Blog hop
Meet 'Charisma' our puppy. She was abandoned  in a junk yard. She was no more then 2 months old. Someone heard we had 2 pitt bulls so they thought she would be perfect for our family. Well, we were not to get any other dogs but can you see what I had to look at??? Omgosh, she is too cute!! She was bitten in 3 places & it was tough at first. Changing diapers in the middle of the night after 10 years!! We gave all the care we knew how to and many trips to the vet. I can't express how important it is to rescue a pet. She is getting full movement in her back
legs & at times struggles but she is tough.

Please enjoy some projects I made to honor "Charisma".

  1. We have 2 pit bulls and a mini doxie. My big buddy pit was thrown out on the interstate in a pillow case when he was just a puppy. One of my sons saw the sack moving and went back to check. He is my gentle giant and best friend.I cannot understand how people do things like that.
(And all 4 of my cats are rescues!)
Blessing to all of you for doing this hop.

  2. My 4 yr old minature poodle had its leg broken when its previous owner kicked her down the stairs. She is spoiled, but worth it. We love her so much. Yes, rescueing or adopting a pet is a wonderful thing to do. Warms the heart to give a neglected or abused pet a good home, with lots of love.

  6. Haidee, thank you so much for organizing this hop to bring attention to the need for more "forever homes" for pets who have been abandoned and some, abused. My precious two Bichons came to me through breeders -- one reputable and one, I've come to learn, not at all reputable. With the two to compare, I can certainly see the disposition differences that comes from having an easier start in life.

A dog who has had a rough start in life needs a special kind of love and time that only those with the largest hearts can spare. Yes, please rescue a dog and also do your due diligence. Can your family understand that your dog may be fragile in the beginning, wary of humans who might abuse it?

Your rewards will come back to you tenfold when you love a dog is unconditional, like his/her love is for you.

    Blessings,

  9. I am so excited to see this blog hop and if you ever do another - I'd love to be included!

I'm a yorky fanatic! We've rescued a number of them over the years (my son has 2 rescues) We just said goodbye to our 17 year old yorky rescue, Kodi. Currently I have 4 (hubby has cut me off).

You are an amazing lady to bring attention to RESCUE dogs. I'd love to win this package and thank you for the chance.

  10. I subscribe to your posts. Although I am not a dog person, adoption is the best way to go! Many friends I know have adopted pets and it is (most of the time) easier - most are house broken, but saves them from being alone (both the person and the pet!). Thanks for sharing! ladydevine73@hotmail.com

  18. What an amazing story and such dedication on your part!! We also have a rescue dog - Trent - he was rescued from a farm (with 30 other dogs) as a tiny pup. He had worms so bad that he lost most of his hair. We however adopted him from the pound so we did not see any of this he was well on the way to recovery by the time we got him! He is a wonderful addition to our family and can't imagine not having him!!!

thank you for doing such an amazing blog hop! would love to become a follower but the link won't for me :(

  19. I am a foster mother to dogs. It is amazing to me how forgiving dogs can be. Humans mistreat them but they are usually so willing to give us another try. Our boy Louie was rescued from a kill shelter when he was a puppy, he is our world1 We adore him! He weighs 104 pounds and he goes everywhere with us. He is also the co-author of my blog! Stop by and see us!

  20. Awww, Haidee! I love your brag book and your little Charisma is adorable. How sad that someone just cast her off like like that!!! I volunteered at a local shelter for a while and ended up with 5 rescue cats. I have adopted many rescue dogs over the years too and right now I have 2 rescued greyhounds. I love that you are doing this hop to raise awareness of the animal overpopulation issues. Bravo! I'm already a follower and appreciate the chance to win some new goodies.

  26. Charisma is definitely a cutie! As are you other two.. I have three dogs..Amy, border collie was dumped at the end of Katie's 5th grade teachers country drive with about 5 other pups..She came to live with us and that was nearly 17 years ago and sad to say I am sure her days are numbered..One night years ago I was laying in my dark bedroom trying to sleep and I heard this dragging noise across my bedroom floor! Scared the b'jeebies out of me..I turned on the light and Amy had pulled my clothes I had taken off, off of the chair and was dragging them down the hall to sleep with them. She has continued this tradition every time I have left the house or gone to bed since! Tank is her son and Rocky, black lab I guess was rescued when my son moved out of town and was not allowed to take his dog with him and he has been here ever since. I can't even hazard a guess how many cats we have rescued over the years..:)

  37. So adorable!! My son came back home to live with us and brought his two furbabies along. One is a Bichon and he was a rescue whose first owner beat him. He is such a lovable little guy and he has a funny name which the first owner gave him...Jonny Cash. LOL Thanks for the chance to win....I really need to scrap some photos of those two furballs!

  42. I love so much that you rescued a dog. I too have rescued a dog this year. She was turned in to a shelter as a stray. She was matted to the bone and had to be shaved. They did not think she had a tail at first. But as they were cleaning her up, her tail was found matted to her belly with poop. I found her on Petfinder.com. i emailed the shelter about her and found out that she was heartworm positive and being taken off the adoptible list. I told them I would pay for the treatment if they would put my name on her if she survived. Well, after heartworms, full of hookworms kennel cough, and ear infections in both ears. She now very healthy and happy. She has made my life as much as I have made hers. She is a 3lb.1oz. maltese, and no more than 4 years old. Take a look at my sweet Ruby on my blog, along with my other two babies, Jack and Magnolia.
Thank you for such a wonderful blog hop!

  46. HI Haidee
I am back for day 2, A few new projects. This was a good hop theme. Really nice to bring out the knowledge of adopting dogs. I had fun with my projects (esp that word book--even if it is crude, but it was my first). Thank you for hosting and coordinating and letting me be a stop. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
